Yesterday a new law was passed in Uganda that means gay and bisexual people can now be handed a life sentence for ‘crimes’ that include touching a person of the same gender with ‘intent’ to engage in a sexual act.

The Anti-Homosexuality Act also means that those supporting LGBT rights can be imprisoned for up to seven years.

To spread the word about the archaic new law, LGBT campaigning group All Out have created an infographic that explains the facts.

There is also a petition, which is asking world leaders to protect the rights of those in Uganda who are in danger of persecution.

Sign the petition here.
