Tom Hiddleston tweets his support for Emma Watson’s #HeForShe campaign
Tom Hiddleston showed his support for Emma Watson and the UN’s #HeForShe campaign with this wonderfully to the point tweet this morning:
Watson, who earlier this year was appointed a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, made a speech at the UN on Sunday to launch the new campaign, which called on men to join the cause for gender equality and realise that the issue was theirs too.
The #HeForShe campaign describes itself as a “UN Women Solidarity Movement for Gender Equality.”
Watson’s speech was fairly powerful stuff, and of course it deservedly went viral within a matter of hours.
The misogynists have risen up from their murky internet forums/parents’ basements since in an attempt to shout her down, of course, and have happily succeeded in drawing a whole lot more support for the campaign.
We’re expecting Tom Hiddleston to have slightly more of an influence that the angry internet trolls, obviously.
So, go Tom! And Emma. And everyone else who has shown their support to this campaign — we, of course, are with you too.
