One night stands: most likely in which UK city?

Another day, another sex survey ‘reveals’ the most ‘promiscuous’ city in the UK. Are you ready?

This week’s sex survey, undertaken by online sexual health pharmacy UKMedix.com, asked 2,000 men and women aged over 18 whether they had regular one night stands, and came to their winning conclusion about where is the sluttiest by breaking down the ‘yes’ answers into regions.

Overall, 42% of those asked said that they did indeed regularly go for the one-night experience.

And where had the highest percentage of these people?

You might not be surprised (or maybe you will — we don’t go in for stereotyping here). The city that those most up for a bit of no strings fun reside in is…

Liverpool.

But before you go jogging off to the North West in the hope that the majority of scousers are just waiting around for you to walk into their life and their bed (for one night only), have a look at the stats — only 13% of those questioned said that one night stands were a regular occurrence for them.

We don’t think that’s very high, in all honesty. Liverpool probably isn’t deserving of the ‘most promiscuous’ tag that the mainstream press has been throwing around in light of this survey.

Even so, you might still be wondering if your city is up there with the former European Capital of Culture (2008).

If this is the case, here is the top ten in full. Percentage refers to the amount of respondents who claimed to have regular one night stands.

Liverpool — 13%

Oxford — 11%

Newcastle — 10%

Swansea — 9%

Cardiff — 7%

Glasgow — 6%

Nottingham — 6%

Birmingham — 5%

York — 4%

Manchester — 3%
