Diane Abbot has been replaced as shadow home secretary the day before the general election.
Abbot, MP for Hackney, has suffered through a series of embarrassing interviews in the weeks leading up to tomorrow’s vote.
She will be replaced by Lyn Brown, currently Labour’s shadow policing minister.
Abbot is suffering a period of “ill-health”, according to the Labour Party.
A statement this morning reaveled that “Jeremy Corbyn, Leader of the Labour Party, has asked Lyn Brown to stand in for Diane Abbott as Shadow Home Secretary for the period of her ill health.”
It isn’t known whether Abbot will take up the rtole of Home Secretary if Labour are elected tomorrow, or if Brown will take up the role.
