Oh hey, it’s almost the weekend — which means it’s also almost time for 00s royal heartthrob and sixth in line to the British throne Prince Henry of Wales to become a married man.

Harry and Meghan are getting hitched at 12 on Saturday, which definitely means we’ve got time to whip up a suitable wedding breakfast before the nuptials kick off. We might even add a cheeky glass of champagne.

Here are a whole bunch of brunch suggestions for the big day, courtesy of our friends at Co-op Food. Cheers and sploshy sploshy to that!

  1. All day breakfast bowls

The perfect breakfast to prepare a prince for a long day of pomp, ceremony and potentially difficult relatives. Better stack that bacon high, Harry!

2. Banoffee oats

Oh so pretty, and perfect for those with a sweet tooth — the perfect wedding morning treat for a tiny bridesmaid? Or even a grown-up who wishes she was a bridesmaid? We think so.

3. Black pudding eggs Bury-dict

British through and through, this celebratory twist on the traditional eggs benedict looks like a crowd-pleaser to us. Definitely one for those with a very big day ahead.

4. Baked croissant French toast

Have you ever heard a more appealing four words than “baked croissant French toast”? We haven’t — not even “Prince Henry of Wales”. Soz Harry.

5. California-style eggs

An avocado-led nod to Meghan’s home state here. Californiaaaaaaaaaa, here we come… to steal all your avocados because we need them more than a house.

6. Rocky road pancakes

Yes, rocky road comes in pancake form now — so why not have a two-course wedding brunch with this as dessert? You’re very, very welcome for this suggestion.

7. Breakfast burritos

This one describes itself as “fried breakfast in a wrap”. We can’t really argue with that, but it does look like an exceptionally good hangover cure. Maybe one for tomorrow morning, post-reception?

8. Crumpet eggs royale

It wouldn’t be a British brunch party without crumpets making an appearance, and we’re happy to oblige — especially when they’ve got a royale connection like this one does (that’ll be the salmon, working hard there to hold the unstable poached egg in place.)

9. Love heart smoked salmon muffins

This is a celebration of love, so we suggest you whip up these smoked salmon muffins for that special someone as Harry and Meg and preparing to commit. Go on, tell them how you feel.

10. French toast with pears

Literally ready in ten minutes AND including fruit — this one is a no-brainer.

11. Vegan all-day breakfast

We’d never leave the vegans out of the celebrations, so here’s one for them — a traditional British fry-up, with none of the bad bits and 100% of the good stuff.

12. Stewed apple granola

A little bowl of power, because when there are that many mad hats entering a castle you’re going to need a whole load of energy to get through.

13. Ginger sweet potato pancakes

Every love story has a good twist, so we’re delighted that sweet potatoes and ginger have got involved with one of our top brunch staples — pancakes! May this be a long and very happy marriage.

14. Italian melt omelette

This omelette is basically a tricolore salad (minus the avocado, plus prosciutto) on an egg bed, which sounds just divine to us.

Packed with two of our favourite green things — spinach and leeks — this is a brunch that will make you feel as good about yourself as Meghan Markle does right about now.

16. Eggy bread with bacon and cheese

Finally, let’s end with a childhood classic. Who doesn’t love eggy bread? Add the dream team of bacon and cheese and you’re laughing. A more iconic duo than Harry and Meghan themselves (err, sorry about that).
